It's the most wonderful time of the year....

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, my Dad helped Nick and I pick out our Christmas Tree. For me, this is the best day. It is the official start of the season. I love Gaver Farm - everyone there is so nice and they have over 100 acres of trees to choose from. This year, my dad said the Douglas Fir's were beaut's so we headed over to that part of the farm.
There were so many trees to choose from, so we did A LOT of this!!
I got lost in a sea of these - I lost Nick for a time!
And right when I thought we would never find the ol' girl, there she was. She was fat and tall and beautiful!!
Nick sawed her down as I held her steady. We forgot we were going to have to haul her back down the mile hill to check out - where is the old man in the golf cart when you need him?!?!?
Then they shoved our sweet tree into this machine and I stood by in case things went awry! She came out as skinny as could be! We tossed her in the back of my dad's truck and headed home!

How fun!
I wish they made machines like that for people (more specifically, ME)...shove 'em in one end big and chubby and come out the other nice and skinny. :)

Have a Merry Christmas!!

Awe. Yay for picking out a tree! My parents have gotten a live tree from Gaver ever since we moved up to Mt. Airy. It's just something wonderful to hunt down the perfect tree. *Though I sympathize with you in getting lost in the sea o' trees. I've done that before!*

So fun! I want a real tree! Maybe someday. You know, I have only had 1 real tree in my whole life! I think I will get one next year:)
