Just Married

You've all heard the story before - the best guy marries the best girl.....Well, in this case it's actually true. Adam is one of the best guys I know and last Saturday he married one of the best girls I know too, Brittany! And, no, I am not just saying that because he's my brother! It was a beautiful wedding in the Columbis, Ohio Temple and it was a dream come true to see my whole family around me in there and watching my little brother marry his sweetheart. And this Friday night we get to celebrate with them again! Let the good times roll!

Playing Catch Up, Part 3

July also marked Brady turning six months old!!! And you know what that means, time for food!!! I have documented our first days with some pics and a video!! In addition to eating, Brady is sitting up on his own, playing with toys, reaching for them and picking them up and showing anger when his mother takes certain "toys" away, like, scissors, pens, and dog toys!!! But I would have to say Brady's all time favorite new grown up thing is controlling his own binky. He takes it out, puts it back in, just holds it in his hand - whatever he wants to do, he does. It makes him feel very big!!! Also in July, Nick and I found baby air jordan's in a local consignment shop here in town so here is a pic of our boy all jordified!! Oh I almost forgot to put up his 6 month stats. Brady is now 50th percentile in all categories!!!! YAY!! He weighed 17 lbs and was 26 in. long! We're so proud of our growing boy and just love him to pieces. He has really got me wrapped around his little finger....and dad too!!

Playing Catch up, Part 2

After leaving my families reunion, we headed down to Provo to spend 5 days with Nick's extended family. They are so great so we always love seeing them. First stop was Grandma and Grandpa Long. Now, none of Nick's grandparents had met Brady so Nick was so happy to introduce them to his son! Grandpa Long plays the accordion and Brady loved listening to it! They also have two cute dogs, Cocoa and Heidi, that Brady could not get enough of! It was a really great visit!
We spent the remainder of the time with Nick's grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins from the Jones side. We had a picnic, went up to Sundance and rode the ski lift, played lots of games and just had a great time. Here are some pics! These four pics are from Sundance. It was so beautiful up there and the lift ride was spectacular. I probably would have enjoyed it more if we didn't have our wiggly 6 month old with us. I kept worrying he would just wiggle out of our arms!
He already loves sports of all kinds! Nick's cousin, Hannah, Aunt Karen, and Grandma and Grandpa Jones Brodey and Patricia, Nick's cousin, Jared's, wife and son. Nick with Kevin and Nate - they are 15 and 17 - big guys! The men playing a little game of touch football Cousin Jessica with her two little Chihuahua's!

Playing Catch Up, Part 1

July was a super busy, fun month for us! On July 19, we jet-setted off to Utah for my family's annual vacation. It, also, happened to be my 29th birthday and Brady's first time flying! Thankfully, Nick had a talk with him about it being mommy's birthday so he was pretty good! When we got to Utah, we were picked up at the airport by Krista, my SIL, and my dad. Krista hadn't met the Bradster yet so I was really excited to show him off! We then headed to her house for a brief visit with my BFF Apey, her husband Matt, and daughter Bailey. When I walked in the door, all the lights were off and it was super quiet. Now, Tommy and Krista have three kids under so the quietness was a bit shocking! I walk around the corner and my whole family jumps up and yells "SURPRISE"!! It totally was that and very sweet! There was a beautiful, yummy chocolate cake from Costco, which I LOVE and a dozen red roses! It was a perfect surprise! About 15 minutes later, April and family showed up and that was equally as wonderful!! April had never met Brady either so they had a nice little first meeting! At about 6:30pm we headed up to Park City and that place is really beautiful. We all got moved in and spent time chatting and finally turned in because we were exhausted from traveling! The next morning, which was the highlight of the trip, we went to the Salt Lake Temple where Josh (my youngest brother) took out his endowments. It was so wonderful to have my whole family there - except for the kids of course! Here are some pics:After the temple, we spent the rest of the week doing all sorts of ruckus things!
We went boating and tubing. We went swimming.
We spent lots of time hanging out together! And we even fit in time to take a picture with matching reunion shirts!
It was a really great vacation. We played games, went to a small town rodeo, ate good food and laughed a lot. But for me, the best part of these vacations is being with my family and being reminded again and again that they really are the best! I love being with them!
