To cut or not to cut?

That is the question! What do you think?

Could it really be true...

I have an 8 month old! What the biff? Where has the time gone? But, alas, it is true and in true slacker mom form, I neglected to post this on the 15th, which happened to be his actual 8 month birthday! Now, eight months ago, I was still cocky enough to believe that I had this whole mommy thing figured out but, today, eight months more mature and humbled, I realize I am learning more and more each day about myself, Brady, Nick, our marriage, the gospel, life in general, etc... It is amazing what you can learn spending all day with a drooling infant. The greatest thing I have learned is that it's okay to not be perfect. I struggled with that so much at first but now I know that Brady doesn't know the difference. He loves me anyway because in my arms he finds unconditional love, comfort and security. He knows that when he looks up at me with those big, brown eyes, he pretty much gets whatever he wants! And that's okay! Luckily for me, he's been pretty reasonable so far in his requests. Mostly, he just wants hugs and big kisses and whatever Mommy is eating at the time! Seriously, though, this little guy has taught me more about myself in this little time and I find that he is very patient with me! Not too much has changed from seven to eight months except for one thing - one very exciting development - the walker!! Brady is cruisin' around like a wild man in our walker!! He loves his new freedom and LOVES getting into things he normally couldn't! I have mixed feelings! I love watching him explore the world around him - it's one of the many joys of parenthood, but at the same time, I miss the simpler days of snuggling my little newborn! Each phase is good and important and I just love Brady so much! He really is my greatest joy! Here's what he's been up to!
For his eight month celebration, we decided to give him a little treat - ice cream!! Don't judge us, it wasn't the whole thing - we were happy to finish it for him! Here comes trouble!! I love his little face when he realized he got caught!!

All About Brady

I missed posting about Brady turning 7 months and now he is almost eight! It's so hard to believe that he is almost eight months because he is still my little baby! Turning seven months has meant several new things to adjust to! He is cutting his first two teeth as we speak so drooling is at an all time high!! He got to meet his Aunt Michele who is home for college and lives with us! She loves him so much and he is equally enamored with her! It's great having her home! Brady is also testing the waters as far as rolling and moving. He rolled off the bed for the first time - he walked away unscathed but it scared Nick and I pretty bad! He can also scoot 360 degrees but won't crawl to save his own life! He is really vocal - laughing and giggling all the time. He's just a happy boy and he makes our home feel complete! This is not to say we don't want more kids but for now, our home and our hearts are full!

Operation

On Monday, dad got a full knee replacement. It is always hard seeing your parents as people and not these brave superhero like people that make us feel safe and comforted. I spent the day in the hospital with my mom as we waited for his surgery to end and then for him to get out of recovery. It was such a relief to finally see his doctor and know that everything had gone okay. When we got up to his room, it was a little shocking to see him hooked up to IV's and looking so weak and tired. That's just not my dad. But he woke up and the second he saw Brady, I got to see his smile that I love and still depend on so much! He's home now recovering and trying to get back to McGiver status as fast as possible! Here are some pics from the day!
Trying to stay entertained while we waited to see Dad!
He hasn't quite figured out how to do this yet!
We ran some errands while we waited and Grandma bought Brady a new outfit! We also ate lunch - Brady's first time at McDonald's! Seeing PopPop for the first time! Not sure what to think about all that stuff on him! There's my PopPop! Going in for a kiss! Mom, Dad and Brady Nick, Dad, Brady and Me - So glad to be done with the surgery!! I had to keep Brady entertained so I blew up a glove - he thought it was the best thing ever! This is the next day! Dad with his great nurse Martha. You can see that Dad was back to his old self!!!
